Lin 28 mRNA-LNP
LIN28 is an evolutionarily highly conserved RNA-binding protein that functions as an oncogene in higher eukaryotes. LIN28 regulates diverse physiological functions such as development, differentiation, insulin resistance and tumorigenesis. Overexpression of human LIN28A and its paralog LIN28B is associated with many tumors, leading to markedly increased cancer aggressiveness and poor prognosis. LIN28 has been reported to be overexpressed in many cancers, implying that LIN28 is an excellent biomarker for many tumors, including prostate cancer. This product is designed as a tool for the delivery and expression of LIN28A mRNA for research. The product leverages the lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology platform for simple and efficient delivery of LIN28A mRNA to a variety of mammalian cells in vitro and in vivo. The LNPs used are formulated with SM-102, DSPC, cholesterol and DMG-PEG2000 at an optimal molar concentration for a high rate of encapsulation and efficient mRNA delivery. The LIN28A protein is about 23 kD and consists of 209 amino acids. The GenPept accession number is NP_078950.
