Interferon gamma (IFN-γ or IFN-Gamma), encoded by the IFNG gene, is a dimerized soluble cytokine that is the only member of the type II interferon class. IFN-γ is secreted by cells of the innate and adaptive immune systems. It forms homodimers (active form) that bind to the IFN-γ receptor and trigger cellular responses to viral and microbial infections. Mutations in the IFN-γ gene are associated with increased susceptibility to viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, as well as several autoimmune diseases. IFN-γ has been reported to prevent tumor growth, suggesting that this type II interferon could be used in the development of cancer immunotherapies. This product is designed as a tool for the delivery and expression of TF-tagged human IFN-γ mRNA for research. The product leverages the lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology platform for simple and efficient delivery of hIFNγ-TF mRNA to a variety of mammalian cells in vitro and in vivo. The LNPs used are formulated with SM-102, DSPC, cholesterol and DMG-PEG2000 at an optimal molar concentration for a high rate of encapsulation and efficient mRNA delivery. The hIFNγ-TF protein is about 20 kD, consisting of hIFNγ and a C-terminal TF tag (15 amino acids). The GenPept accession number for hIFNγ (166 amino acids) is NP_000610.

Application & Handing
Upon receiving product, briefly pulse spin before opening to ensure product is at bottom of container. It is important not to spin for too long as this may rupture mRNA-LNPs. Do not vortex. Work with mRNA-LNPs on ice and minimize the time that the product spends at room temperature. After handling the product during experiments, return immediately to ice. mRNA-LNP products should only be handled with certified RNase-free reagents and consumables. Use of filtered pipette tips is highly recommended.
